MLK DAY OF SERVICE AT GREENFIELD A HUGE SUCCESS. (by Lisa Criniti-Ciervo, MLK Day organizer)  Nearly 170 people dedicated their day off, took a vacation day or a day unpaid to participate in this year's Martin Luther King Day of Service at Greenfield. I want to say thank you, for the remarkable efforts and amazing teamwork, that parents, students, former students and some friends from the community contributed to the day. I hope we have shown our kids and the Greenfield community that change for the better sometimes happens one little project at a time, resulting in the end a complete transformation. I hope this is an example that will serve them well in life -- that we are all are empowered to make our community better with our ingenuity and some hard work.  Click here for more on the Herculean tasks of the day (including Gym beautification, Beautification of Ms. Finkle's Room, Sprucing up of the Chestnut Street Vestibule, 2nd Floor Bathroom Beautification, Mr. Carbone's Classroom Repairs and Cleaning, Auditorium Vestibule, Decorative Paint for Elevator Cab, Paint Kitchen, Library and Potluck and Kids Crew).

GREENFIELD'S WINTER CONCERT. One of Greenfield’s favorite holiday traditions is the winter musicale, our school showcase of musical talents.  This year, it featured music performances by many students from many different grades, with our three new music teachers at Greenfield. The two new instrumental and music teachers are Ms. Diane Kay-Clark (winds/brass/percussion) and Ms. Joanne Horne (strings), and our new K-8 music teacher is Mr. Philip Romeo.  Thanks to all teachers who prepared our children so wonderfully for this lovely concert featuring a wide variety of genres from holiday songs to Lady Gaga!

READ, LEAD, SUCCEED.  John Neary, Middle School Literacy Teacher, has started a new program at Greenfield, "Read, Lead, Succeed". It is a school wide initiative to promote the love of reading and to encourage students to read for pleasure and relaxation. Click to get to the LEAD, READ, SUCCEED homepage, where you will find links to more information and reading activities. We have plans to implement more reading programs in the future, such as a Reading Buddies partnership between Middle School students and Kindergarten and 1st grade classes.

taxNEW WAY TO HELP GREENFIELD WITH FUNDING! This is an amazing opportunity for businesses to make a profound impact on their neighborhood public school with funds they would otherwise be paying to the state government.  Please read more on our site right HERE!
