GREENFIELD NEEDS YOUR HELP:
HANDS FOR HAITI:
- We need your leftover fabric and batting for making quilts and dolls for an orphenage in Haiti!
As you well know, the Greenfield School Community raised $1,030.33 for the Haitian people and donated it to the Red Cross. To that end, we are also in the process of adopting an orphanage in Haiti through UNICEF. Some of the students and I, during our lunch period, will make children's quilts and dolls to donate. For those of you who sew and might have leftover fabric and batting, please donate what items you can. The materials can be dropped off between the hours of 12 noon until 1 pm. If you can only bring it after school, please call me ahead and I will wait for you. The office staff will call me to come down to receive the items . Thanks so very much.

- The beautiful wooden sculpture in the Library " soccer player" has no identification or description about the artists and how it was acquired. We could use a volunteer to write up a description ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it has an article and it describes how the Enrichment Committee of HSA acquired it).
- We need a person who attends the H & S monthly Board meetings to keep the school office calendar and the library calendar up to date with current H & S meetings, events and any changes. Please contact Candace Linn, our librarian.
- We need someone to advertise to parents about the Greenfield Student Council which is the policy making committee at Greenfield comprised of teachers, parents, staff H & S president and the principal. We need someone to write a blurb for the Greenfield's StudentHandbook and the website. Please contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
ART SUPPLIES NEEDED
Ms. Becker the art teacher is in need of empty cereal boxes and also clear plastic lids (i.e. pringles lids, lids to deli take-out soups, spreads etc...) for a art project she plans to do for the holidays. Please collect lids and have your student bring them to Ms. Becker; many thanks!
Indoor recess games needed
The Parents-in-the-Playground (PIP) program is asking for concerned parents to consider donating games for our children to use during indoor recess now that the colder season is upon us.
Click here for a list of games and activities that PIP are requesting families bring or sponsor (by donating funds) for the indoor recess. These were selected for their ideal characteristics in that they are fun, intellectually stimulating, have relatively few parts to lose or break, and can be played in 15 or minutes or so while sitting in the auditorium. Please check out the list and sign up!
If your family can make a donation of a game, please bring it to school on any morning and hand it to noon time aid Glory S. If you have a cash donation towards any of the larger ticket items, please make a check payable to Greenfield home and school assn, noting the donation is for "indoor recess" in the memo and place it in the H&S mailbox in the office.
If you have ideas for appropriate activities, please add them to the list. Also, if you have a gently used game that you think would also fit the bill, we would accept that as well!
Thank you!
